Automated Email Jargon
Do you like this post?
I received the following email yesterday. It was address as follows:
Hi {FIRSTNAME},
…………… (The email then want on trying to sell me something)
Thanks,
“#@%&!”
I replied as follows:
Hello “#@%&!”,
My name is not {FIRSTNAME}. Or, did you send this email to the wrong person?
Best regards,
Matthew
The reply I got was:
Re: I’m not getting your emails here. Go to …
Hi,
Thank you for contacting me.
Sorry, I’m no longer accepting or reading emails sent directly to this
email account.
To contact me, kindly go to: “#@%&!”
……
Again, this email will not be read by me or anyone else. You need to
use the link above to contact me.
Thanks.
“#@%&!”
The question is when is automation going too far?
At the end of the day in the first instance it was only a simple error of hitting the send button slightly early.
