South Africa has had a culinary association for many years essentially run by expats for which we in the culinary industry are grateful unfortunately this association has not seen fit to hand over the process to South African chefs and to take South African indigenous Cuisine to the world stage . With all this in mind the “Culinary Arts Association of South Africa” (CAASA) was born run by South Africans for all South African culinarians as we agree with you on your point that one must belong to a association to broaden ones horizons such a pity we have to go on our own to achieve real local culinary excellence after 2 years contrary to our detractors we are alive an well and spreading our culinary wings with a new branch in the province of Limpopo.
