Most of us, particularly working individuals, do experience stressful days. It is therefore believed that it should put into its end. We may always work hard, put our efforts into it, and practice our profession without being so stressed and exhausted.
When one feels so tired, exasperated and bored, he is very close to being stressed out. Stress is something we should be bothered about and must find ways on how to deal or cope with. Several ways and strategies have been considered effective to fight this dilemma. However, people tend to unconsciously ignore such and are never aware that they have acquired one.
It is true that people in all walks of life especially us, chefs, really have high risks and tendencies of possessing occupational anxiety. We experience these stressful situations because we have many tasks, duties and responsibilities, and we are exposed in a very demanding kind of work.
However, I firmly believe that most of us do enjoy our job and have the passion over it. We perform our tasks not only because we want to excel and be promoted but also to give our clients and customers optimal satisfaction. Seeing them wearing a smile after eating is extremely a rewarding experience – far more than getting salary increase and promotion.
Therefore, for us to continuously have that inspiration and to achieve professional growth, we must learn how to cope with to those stressful days. Here is how:
- Be organized. Proper time management is a great key to a lighter and fun-filled schedule.
- Maintain a balanced diet, exercise regularly and have the right working attitude. You must stay fit and healthy; work with a positive outlook.
- Keep yourself happy and witty. Laugh out loud. As the cliché goes, laughter is the best medicine. Include sense of humor and fun in your work habits.
- Make your profession, your passion. Love what you are doing. Work with all your heart.
Bidding goodbye to your stressful days is never easy. It does not happen overnight or in just a snap of a finger. Instead, it takes time, effort and mastery. You may always work it out – taking the corresponding precautionary measures and having the right coping mechanisms.
