Summer is here, and your restaurant can surely capitalize on the season in more ways than one. How? By bringing summer to your restaurant.
Most restaurants usually experience higher traffic come the summer season, of course. This is usually brought about by an influx of tourists visiting the place, especially if the restaurant is near beaches, and this is also brought about by the general relaxed feeling of most people. After all, there are no hassles of preparing the kids for school like dropping them off and fetching them, preparing their meals, helping with their lessons, etc. With more time on their hands, they visit touristy places and beaches. The more people visiting such places, the more revenues restaurants get from them.
However, you can increase your revenues all the more by giving your restaurant a “summer” look, thus, attracting more potential customers.
The Summer Colors
One way of giving your restaurant a summer feel is to bring the colors of summer into your restaurant. Say for example you want a beach-inspired theme, then all you have to do is to choose neutral colors to represent the sand and cool blue and turquoise colors to represent the sea. You can also use white to represent the foam.
You can use the beach-themed colors to decorate your restaurant. You can use very light, billowy, white curtains and blue slipcovers. You can also accessorize your restaurant with an assortment of seashells as well as driftwoods.
In short, get rid of the dark colors and heavy accessories, and decorate your restaurant in light colors and just as light accessories.
The Summer Flowers
Another way of giving your restaurant a summer look is to make use of summer flowers. Although sunflowers are available all year round, these flowers are commonly associated with summer. So instead of the usual red roses, let say for example, on the tables, you can use sunflowers as the decorative centerpiece.
There are more summer flowers to choose from, aside from the sunflower, of course, and you can certainly use them in decorating your restaurant. There are the freesias as well as the chrysanthemums, and there are also the carnations as well as the hydrangeas. You can also make use of iris and gladiolus. The most important thing to remember though is to choose fresh brightly colored flowers as they represent summer well.
The Patio
Lucky you if your restaurant has a patio because you can definitely take advantage of it come the summer season.
As stated above, think of the summer colors and decorate your patio with it. You can also decorate your patio with summer flowers to make it more attractive. Just make sure though that the flowers are fresh.
The most important thing is to make sure that the patio has ample shade during the day to shield your guests from the harsh rays of the sun. So if your patio does not have an awning, then have one installed before summer starts.
Awnings come in different materials such as canvass and aluminum. Canvass awnings are perfect for the summer season as they do not absorb heat like aluminum awnings do; however, this will not protect your guests from rain. There are waterproof fabric awnings though that you can choose from, and they come in different shades and decorations.
Now, it will be all the more beneficial for you if you have a retractable patio awning. You can simply have it retracted in as soon as the sun comes down, or during late afternoons, or at nighttime. This way, your guests can enjoy the cool breeze as well as a wonderful view of the sky, especially at night when the stars are out.
