Nowadays, it is very important that you learn how to be eco-wise or economy wise.  You need to save water and energy to cut back on the electricity and water bills.  You need to learn how to save gas, so you will be able to minimize the effects on you of the soaring gas prices.  You should learn how to recycle your garbage and even benefit from waste materials.  If you are going on a trip, you should know how to budget and save money from the airfare and hotel prices.  Here are some tips on how to be eco-wise.

Learning How to Recycle

The healthiest places in the world are places that are practically litter-free.  Wastes can be hazardous.  They attract pests and create diseases.  You need to learn how to dispose of your garbage and waste correctly.  The truth is that you don’t have to dump all your garbage.  In the first place, you should avoid littering.  All that litter eventually comes back to you.

Learn how to properly place your rubbish inside the garbage bin and dispose of it correctly and promptly.  There are people with overflowing bins with garbage begging to be disposed of.  When disposing wastes, make sure that you use designated garbage dumping stations.  You may want to check on the various dump stations in your area, so you know where to bring your wastes.

Aside from throwing your garbage, you also need to learn how to reuse and recycle materials.  You can reuse plastic bags.  If you don’t want to, you can look for a recycling centre where you can bring old papers, plastic, bottles, cans and glasses.  Actually, you don’t have to throw these things away.  There are people who actually use these things to create useful materials.

You can look online for websites that promote recycling of garbage into something productive and beautiful.  They will give you an idea what to do with your garbage.  You can create bags from old cloths and clothes or flower pot from cans.  There are so many things that you can do!

Learn to Save Energy

With the rising gasoline prices, it is very important that you learn how to be eco-wise.  When you use less energy, you effectively help in reducing the amount of pollution.  Greenhouse effect is not a laughing matter anymore.  Everyone is feeling its devastating effects.  Now, what can you do to save energy?

First of all, you need to switch off the lights when you leave the room.  Turn off the television and disconnect it from the electricity socket.  You may not know this but you are still using at least 15% of electricity when you turn off your television without completely disconnecting it from the socket.

Learning how to be eco-wise is simple.  Unfortunately, people are just way too lazy.  Being economy wise starts with these simple things – turn off the lights and recycle your garbage.
