Alas, dear chefs, you are now in the real tough world. Finding a good and lasting job is never easy. Hence, negotiating with diverse people is neither easy, too. At this point, let me provide you some tips on how to handle tough situations so you can achieve your chef’s career as easy as baking chocolate-chipped cookies!

  • Stay cool under pressure. Never panic, dear chefs! Before dealing with people you’re working with, make sure to stay calm and relax for a bit. Do not let pressure eat you. Smile at your best; by then, you are somehow establishing rapport.
  • Disarm adversaries. Competition is the greatest threat to any successful startup. The more successful you become, the more competition you will piss off, and each contender will bring with them a new strain of hassle. Do not let your opponents bring you down. If you feel the competition is rising up, keep fresh and chill!
  • Stand up for yourself. We are often confronted with situations in which we must stand up for ourselves. Be assertive! Since this character is straight, we confront the source of the problems, enabling our message to be heard without distortion. Being honest and open helps in maintaining a good and respectful relationship with other persons; so, future dealings will likely be positive.
  • Deal with secret tactics. In most cases, people tend to undermine themselves when pressure heats on. Never be shy but be strategic in your work. Show them what you have gotten and do your best as often as you can!
  • Find agreeable solutions. . In case of a conflict-say contradicting ideas- remain detached, neutral, and above the emotion. Observe, listen, and let other persons know they have been heard, but do not allow yourself to come down into the scene.
  • Use decision-making abilities constructively. It is a way to approach resolution-resistant conflicts that help individual or multiple parties confront these conflicts in the most effective way. You should develop the capability in dealing with conflict constructively by introducing dynamic, open debate as part of the decision-making process. In doing so, you must ensure discussions remain constructive, avoiding the risk of stirring up personal dislike.

These are some techniques that will surely work for you. Finding your steady job would be easy and your chef’s career would be as cool as chocolate shake! Keep chillin’!

    Awesome topic!
I wish the article was 6 times longer. ;-)
This is all too true, and something we all deal with.
    Great advice.
Kudos to the author – how about some follow up?

For those who disagree, perhaps an article entitled “how to throw pans and throw the toys out of the cot” may be helpful :-)
