Being healthy has always been a dream to many of us especially the working ones. This seems to be attainable if someone has the right knowledge and discipline on keeping health as his priority. However, staying healthy requires more effort and hard work.

As we become so busy working, earning for a living, we tend to unconsciously take our health for granted. When we are to work for that day, we usually skip breakfast to allot enough time to prepare or at least extend the hours of sleep for some few more minutes. Mind you, this really happens to most of us.

Therefore, we must take all the means to help ourselves adhere to this alarming circumstance. We may not do it over night but we will surely practice such and soon make it a habit.

Since we live a very busy and demanding lifestyle nowadays, I outline the tips to serve as your guide in planning and keeping a balanced diet. Here are the following points to remember:

  • Try to eat five different nutritious fruits and vegetables a day. You must have a consistent intake of fruits and vegetables a day. Good examples of fruits are apples, oranges and bananas, where as, for vegetables – broccoli and carrots.
  • Pay attention to food labels. Be sure the food you eat is less in fat, salt and sugar. Foods with more salt can surely increase your blood pressure, which can eventually cause a heart disease and stroke. Plus, you must choose to have dairy products such as butter, milk and other foods, which have reduced fat.
  • Eat nutritious snacks. During your snack time, you should eat healthy foods such as fruits rather than having junk foods or chocolates.
  • Drink at least eight glasses of water everyday. The more fluids you intake, the more toxins can be flushed out of your system. This can also aid digesting the foods easily.
  • Never skip meals. It is believed that breakfast in particular should be considered as a very important meal and must always come in a real, complete serving.

Planning a balanced diet cannot just practically help you schedule good food intakes but also can offer a wide variety of foods.

So, to all the chefs out there, as you deal with good and yummy foods and dishes of different cuisines, indulge yourselves with the same delicious and nutritious meals, too. Keep on making people healthier to simply turn this world into a better place to live in.
