The one notable thing about this year’s El Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants list is the inclusion of Iggy’s in the Top 50 list. This restaurant has been making noise for the past couple of years and its exclusion from the list have raised the ire of many food critics. Ignatius Chan, however, must be so pleased for the recognition Iggy’s received this year. They have managed to grab the 45^th spot and this is a huge achievement, considering it’s a new entry to this year’s list.

Iggy’s is named after Ignatius Chan, the restaurant’s owner, manager and culinary visionary. It primarily offers French cuisine; although, Chan experiments with molecular gastronomy. It is a wonderful place to visit if one is looking for a treat. Their cuisine fully embodies the east-meet-west theme.

Ignatius Chan has always had a lifelong desire to make his mark in the culinary world. He is an admirer of food fusion and he knows the real essence of this trend. He respects the differences in texture, flavor, techniques and taste of various cuisines. It is this experience that inspires him to create the culinary direction that has catapulted the restaurant into fame. Iggy’s has provided him an outlet where he can share his culinary vision. Needles to say, we can probably find him at the top of the list, being held in class next to some of the best restaurateurs in the world.

One is bound to be impressed once he or she experiences the magic that Iggy’s has to offer. With the restaurant’s intimate counter dining setting, you can actually watch the staff work their magic while they prepare your food. The whole thing is a truly remarkable and memorable dining experience.
