Nowadays, it is fairly common to find micro-greens in your dish. These are small, tasty and healthy vegetable confetti. They make wonderful additions to many dishes in all kinds of restaurants. They have found their way into gourmet or haute cuisine cooking. They are often use as garnishes or they are added as primary ingredients. Micro-greens have indeed become a trend and they are expected to continue in their popularity in the coming years.
What are Micro-Greens?
Micro-greens are actually the first leaves that sprouted from any plant. These are the leaves that appear between the baby stage and the sprouting stage of plants. Often, they are minuet in size but perfect in form. People love micro-greens because they are more nutritious than fully grown leaves.
There are actually numerous plants that are produced for micro-greens. Some of them include broccoli, radish, amaranth, rapini, red cabbage, green cabbage, cumin, mizuna and giant mustard. All of these plants are specifically grown for micro-greens which tend to smell and taste stronger than their full-grown counterparts.
Nowadays, you will find numerous farms growing micro-greens all over the world. California, in particular, is the home to the world’s best micro-green farms. It is in these farms that you will find innovative methods adopted in order to grow the most nutritious micro-greens.
Growing and Using Micro-Greens
You can definitely grow your own micro-greens. You only need to sow the seeds you would like to grow in a flat soil or a pot with soil and take care of them. You need to collect the seedlings once the first leaves start to appear. This will take about three weeks from the time you plant the seeds. In truth, you can grow your own micro-greens anytime you want. You can even grow them inside your house during the winter. You just need to get special felt pads where you would plant and grow your seeds.
Using micro-greens in your cooking will certainly give an additional texture to your dishes. Adding these into your vegetable salad will give your salad a curious bite. You will not lack of recipes for your micro-greens. A quick search in your favorite search engine will give you hundreds of recipes.
There is an increasing demand for micro-greens. People are becoming aware of the nutritional benefits they would get from these vegetables. Fortunately, you can always grow your own micro-greens. You can even have them during winter. This way, you can spice up your dishes with delicious micro-greens.

People from all walks of life have their favorites. From clothes to books; to actors and actresses; to friends and siblings; to music and songs and what more to food or cuisine. As recorded, the following are Michael’s favorite things. His favorite colors are red and black. His favorite videos (of his) are Thriller and Smooth Criminal. His favorite movies are Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Star Wars and E.T. His favorite number is seven while Steven Spielberg is his favorite director. His favorite place on earth is Disneyland while his favorite ride there is Pirates of the Caribbean. Opium is his favorite perfume while Orange Gatorade is his favorite drink. Pinocchio is his favorite animated character and chimpanzees are his favorite animals. And Smile is his favorite song. While Mexican food is his favorite cuisine, he also loves cheese potatoes, KFC, sushi, spicy foods and M & Ms among others. Likewise, he loves to dine at his favorite restaurant El Chollo in Los Angeles. But this is a fact, very few people knew the real Michael Jackson. The shy superstar remained a mystery to everyone around him, except the people he spent his days with. Michael’s three children and his staff perhaps knew Michael better than anyone else in the entire world.
Michael Jackson, the late great pop singer, was a famous vegetarian and professed his love for Mexican food in many interviews. And being a Mexican vegetarian cuisine lover; Mexican Chilaquiles, is a vegetarian dish Michael Jackson would have loved today. Truly indeed, Michael is a vegetarian. And that can be noted since modern Mexican food whose main ingredients are corn and the famous frijoles, or beans with frijoles as the essential vegetable in the majority of Mexican kitchens as they are easy to prepare, cheap and quite nourishing. All Mexican food appears to combine easily with the aftertastes and ingredients of other foreign cuisines.
Some have thought of things how to honor the famous and well loved Michael Jackson. Even in line with food preparation, one has thought of a7-layer dip as a tribute to MJ knowing number 7 as his favorite number. It can be an easy family favorite and while every member of family adding one layer of the ingredients of the of the 7-layer dip, MJ’s music is played in the background. Indeed, this is an easy way on how to give tribute to a legend that everybody in the globe loves. Music is indeed a perfect synonym for Michael Jackson.

In personal branding there are two types of style. One is the kind which has little meaning. If you’ve ever heard someone refer to personal branding as “style over substance” that person is thinking of this: a signature haircut, a catch phrase or a special hat.
If your personal brand relies on the shape of your eye glasses, you’re in trouble.
Chances are there’s not much going on with your dishes either.
In marketing there’s a phrase that you sell the sizzle, not the steak, but what happens when the customer finds out the steak is no good?
It’ll be pretty hard to sell that steak again.
The style that feeds substance into your personal brand is the style that drives your actions.
Are you a creative thinker?
Are you highly organized?
Are you an eloquent speaker or a person of few words?
Are you Mr Clean?
Are you the “Soup Nazi?”
Do you seek the opportunity in all things or are you the type who points out all the land mines?
Are you a high energy person or the “even keel?”
None of these examples are right or wrong. They’re reflective of the way people do the things they do. When you recognize your style you can apply it to one of the most important attributes of a personal brand: consistency.
Lacking self-awareness of your style can lead to more erratic and reactive behavior. Others aren’t sure what to expect of you.
Professionally, this can lead to trouble.
Imagine watching Emeril on TV and seeing him slowly walk out on set.
Hi…[sigh] it’s Emeril here…bam…I’m little tired today, but we’re gonna cook up a storm…can I get a bam? [sigh]
That just wouldn’t do, would it?
Now before you start leaving comments about Emeril’s cooking below, let’s focus on the point of this example. He delivers his content with a style that reflects the fires burning inside him. This is a guy who loves his food and it shows. Maybe you’re not getting up on stage week after week, but in your job and your profession people are expecting you to “perform” in some way.
The style of Emeril is not dictated by the nature of his content. I’ve met other chefs who still show the passion and excitement with a calm, measured demeanor.
What are you styles? If you haven’t thought about it before, make a list (or better yet, a mindmap) and do a bit of self-exploration. Call friends. Call enemies. Solicit input and get a feel for what other people think your natural style happens to be. Then, take that knowledge as start using it as a “North star” for your activities in your job, your business, on social media and with your friends and family. The result should be a lot more relaxed enjoyment in life.
