yay i love this ball

All of us dream of being successful in the career field we choose to pursue. Having able to enter our dream profession is already an achievement in itself. But being successful and respected in that field will be considered more of some recognition suitable for you. This is not just about the large sum of money we could possibly earn but more of the prestige, the power, and most of all, the self-fulfillment we can gain.

Being successful in our chosen career can be defined differently. For some, success is defined as being financially-advanced. On the other hand, other people, especially those working for public service and social welfare would see themselves successful if they have been able to help as many people as possible. For those aspiring to be politicians, to reach the highest position they desire would be their biggest triumph.

Surely, we all have career goals such as any of those aforementioned. We can even have specific goals we want to achieve, those that would eventually lead us to our dream destination. But the passion, drive and desire will not be enough – not even mere intellect and resolve can get you there. Even if we do have these things, it would not be possible to meet our career goals. We must first be wise. And if we are wise, we will realize that we need to be healthy in order to be successful!

Read books and references related to your field of choice.

It is always wise to read. And it never hurts to learn a few more things especially about your chosen career. Even if you thought you have known everything you need to know, for sure there are still some things there that just might be helpful or things that you might have missed out at first.

Eat food according to the requirements of your work.

Food provides the energy we need for our activities. Some jobs are more physical hence have higher energy requirement. Therefore, workers should eat food that provides more energy. They can eat more because they are sure to burn calories, their reserves eventually anyway. However, people with jobs that are less physical should not eat much because their workload cannot easily burn the excess food as well as its caloric intakes.

Be wise to save money.

Wisely managing your finances will show you are apt to become a successful superior someday. Besides, with all the stress that comes with being hard working, you should be prepared for any emergencies that may entail sudden, heavy spending. But do not compromise your nutritional needs. Nonetheless, you must not be frugal when it comes to your health needs. You can do away with some luxuries you can later have but not with your daily nutritional needs.

Share your healthy lifestyle.

It is best if you share your new-found healthy lifestyle to your officemates or even your boss/es. This would help you make it a habit and make good friends with your co-workers by also improving their lives. This is a big plus if you intend to impress the higher-ups and to be the future boss of your colleagues.

Exercise matters a lot.

It is always best and healthy to exercise. There is no need to go the gym but if this suits your schedule and finances better then do so. Diet will not be enough to get you that healthy and powerful body, plus that reinvigorated mind. It takes an effort to exercise and work out on a regular basis.

Enjoy the fruits of all your hard work.

You have done your part. You have put that wise mindset and healthy body into good use to attain your career goals. Now, enjoy the fruits of all your labor, even if you are not yet in that status you wish for. You can enjoy that later after all.

There is a saying that we should practice what we preach. Chefs are seen as the masters of food and eating. Yet, a lot of them do not exactly epitomize the person who knows what he eats and eats the right food. Thus, a complete and perfect chef needs to have both health and wisdom. Wisdom because for what else would he know how to be healthy and stay healthy!

Chefs are one of the busiest professionals, as surprising as they may seem. Chefs use their energies both for mental and physical activities. Mental activities include planning for the next menu, managing money and administrative matters of the profession and concocting new and refreshing recipes. Of course, the actual cooking is physical, add to this the physical stress of running around the busy kitchen cooking, supervising and catering to the boss’s or clients’ needs. All of this under time pressure – just imagine how stressful it can be, isn’t it?

For these reasons, chefs are also subjected to quite a handful of stress-related illnesses as much as any other fast-paced jobs. Nonetheless, chefs can still do something about this dilemma. Chefs can still have that health, which they require and deserve. Firstly, though, they should have wisdom.

Wisdom is different from being intellectual. Wisdom comes mostly from experience. However, it can also stem from knowing vital information. To use the information that you know in the right way and situation makes one wise. So to become wiser, one must first be open and even curious to information.

For chefs, the first information you must master is referring to food and nutrition. People have begun to be very conscious of healthy nowadays. These include ordinary people, the same people who would dine in the restaurants you serve for. So, it is essential that chefs know much about health too, and how to get and stay healthy accordingly.

Specifically, the job of chefs is to know how to eat healthy. He must have the wisdom to know what dishes to prepare that are both healthy and palatable. He must also be open to suggestions and criticisms to further lead to the improvement of his craft. A person who welcomes constructive critique is a wise person indeed.

He must always strive to upgrade his standards and experiment of potentially good ingredients and dishes. This will exercise his mind and maintain in him a thinking person. He should always practice creativity and resourcefulness. There would be numerous times during work that not everything you need would be at hand’s reach. It is during these very situations that a chef would be expected to be wise in practicing resourcefulness.

If a chef is armed with enough knowledge about health as well as the importance of staying healthy, it will be easier for him to make healthy choices and practices a habit. Once a chef is used to living a healthy lifestyle, it would be second nature for him to make wise decisions when he is faced with nutritional dilemmas. A healthy and wise chef will be able to prepare dishes brimming with both health and mouth-watering goodness.

Health and wisdom go hand in hand, especially for chefs like us. A healthy person could only make the right decisions. We cannot just execute and perform daily works and routines if we are not mentally, emotionally and physically healthy. If we cannot at all work, how are we going to practice our wisdom?

Furthermore, wisdom can make us healthy and stay as such. Wisdom will surely help us make the right decisions regarding our health, and even that of our customers. We will then feel healthier and wiser knowing that we have helped not only ourselves but others too – I think that is the most important thing to consider.

Stay wise and healthy!

If there are people in this world, who know food best, they are the chefs. Cooking and preparing are what they do best. However, you can meet chefs that do not exactly “look healthy.” Such is because even if chefs know a lot about food, they do not necessarily live healthy and wise lifestyle.

To be more convincing and trusted by customers, who are growing to be more and more health conscious these days, chefs of the world must learn to live a healthier and wiser lifestyle. Here are some ways as beginners.

Know your food

Although chefs probably know the best ingredients to make their culinary masterpieces appetizing, not all know consider the nutritional values of the said ingredient to make them healthier. There have been many foods that are not only delicious but also nutritious.

Cook the foods you know are healthy

Of course, once you get to find the essential health information on the food you want to prepare, make sure to apply them. As much as possible, cook only the food you know are healthy. Or, if it is unavoidable, make sure to prepare them with food that is healthy, to balance out the negative effects. You can prepare only enough of the “unhealthy” food so you will not be overeating.

Eat the food you prepare

Chefs must admit it. They eat the same food they prepare. How else would they know they are sumptuous? Well, make the most of it. Enjoy eating them! This is assuming you have followed steps 1 and 2, making sure the food are nutritious and that the net effect of eating the food you prepare is a healthy body!

Do not prepare your favorites all the time

Save your best and favorite dishes to prepare for special occasions. In this way, not only your guests or loved ones will appreciate them more, you will not be tempted to eat much of them too. It is always easier for us to overeat if our favorite dishes are served in front of us…easily accessible!

Exercise

Yes, walking and running around the kitchen to cook the menu and make it to that seven-in-the-morning event could be tiring and sweaty even! But if food surrounds you almost all the hours of the day, all that fat burned at work will not be enough. Find time to exercise, even just a walk either before or after work.

Have some R and R

Rest and Recreation is still a must. There are studies that suggest that stress actually makes us fatter, instead of the usual thinking that it will help us get slimmer. Besides, aside from getting fat, stress also brings about other impairments to our health, like lowering our body iron.

Think of other interests

There are more to life than cooking. Try different crafts such as cross-stitching. Or you can try gardening. You can even grow edible plants so you could have your ingredients right at your backyard, and for free! These “other” things can take your mind off food, and eating, for a while. Also, a healthy and wise habit that makes you productive and can even be a form of exercise.

Read

In relation to the last suggestion, another wise move is to start the habit of reading. Reading makes one smarter, if not wiser. You can read anything, from classic and modern cookbooks to fashion magazines and novels. This could relax your body and mind. It could also widen your imagination and squeeze from you a renewed creativity, which you could possibly apply in your profession!

So, my dear chefs, drive your way to a healthier and wiser road and lifestyle. Enjoy and good luck!

Everyone should get an hour of exercise daily. However, most of us especially those persons who work eight hours a day do not have time for regular exercise. There are different exercises we can perform for our body to become fit and healthy all the time. There are also different levels of exercising.

These different levels refer to the quality of time and amount of energy one expends in their activities. People sometimes could choose which level to perform. Nevertheless, for some people it depends on their occupation, because some jobs involve strenuous activities.

First, let us discuss about the different levels of exercise. There is what is called as active physical level. To practice this, you must do active activities everyday such as quick walking and playing Frisbee. This level is recommended for optimal health. It is also when you engage in 60 minutes of moderate exercise each day in addition to the activities of daily living.

Very active is another level of exercise. This is done by those people who exercise moderately for more than 2.5 hours per day or more intensely for more than 1 hour per day. In contrast, some people are in the sedentary level. These people perform no exercise other than the activities of daily living.

Low active exercises are performed by those people who perform less than an hour of moderate activity. This amount of exercise is not enough to have a healthy body weight and they fully reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

There also different kinds of exercise. Aerobic activities raise your heart rate and therefore it improves the cardio respiratory fitness. Examples of these activities are walking, dancing, swimming, jogging, and bicycling. You should do it most often for at least 30 to 60 minutes.

Strength training increases the strength and endurance of specific muscles. Examples are weight lifting with the use of machines or by using free weights. It should be done 2 to 3 days a week. Stretching exercises promote and maintain flexibility. Examples are yoga and flexibility exercises. It should be done 3 days a week for 10 to 30 seconds and repeat each stretch 3 to 5 times.

Leisure activities are relaxing activities. Examples of these are golf, bowling, softball etc. You should do it 2 to 3 times a week. Recreational activities include sports and past time activities. Examples of these are soccer, hiking, basketball and tennis.

Daily exercise is important because it may reduce cancer risk. The risk reduction is related to the intensity, duration and the age at which the exercise is performed. It also makes you feel better in having physical activity that increases your energy to do different tasks. It lessens the feelings of depression, anxiety and panic disorders.

Additionally, it makes your body fit and healthy not to mention attractive and sexy. This is because exercise burns fats. In addition, a more regular exercise routine will intensify this breakdown process. Furthermore, it also makes your life longer because less fats means less risks for several diseases as well as assisting in maintaining our good blood circulation. It could then make you feel younger all the time.

By doing all the kinds of exercise in our daily activity there are lot of things that we can get from doing a regular exercise. Moreover, always remember that there should be an hour of moderate intensity exercise per day in order to optimize our health. Yet, if we cannot get this amount of exercise, just do what we can, any quantity can do. Because it is better to do something than nothing at all, at least we have tried.
