During the last ten years, Dubai has been working hard to spend money to create the best man made environment for people to live on. Since 2005, Dubai was aiming to stay ahead of Las Vegas in terms of constant development in infrastructures. 2005 saw the Dubai hospitality industry grow almost 10 percent from 2004. With this kind of growth, the world and a lot of investors are looking eastward to the UAE to put their hard earned money into.
Dubai also saw a rise in occupancy of about 6% from 2004 to 2005. The reason for this was that Europeans were visiting and spending the strong Euro. Experts conjecture that the dollar upswing could put a stop to this rise, although most think that Russia and China, as dollar using countries, can make up for this projected loss.
Because of all the spectacular realty constructions in Dubai, the 2007 tourism had an upswing of 6.5 million visitors, plus it is projected that Dubai will gain more than 10 million tourists yearly by 2010.
What makes Dubai so attractive to tourists?
1. The Dubai image – It is progressive, modern, and forward thinking. Just look at the fabulous Dubai realty wonders and you’ll know why Dubai is looking so great for tourists.
2. Shopping – The shopping centers in Dubai are accessible and offer assorted products at cheaper prices. They have quality gold jewelry at less expensive prices.
3. Affordable hotels – Dubai has affordable hotels ranging from 5 stars to 3 star hotels. Remember that Dubai has 85% occupancy rate. This attests to the quality of their hotels and services.
5. Open-minded and international – Dubai boasts of the most diverse people in their country. They have a lot of open-minded people open to all cultures, as long as you follow the rules and regulations.
Speaking of construction and hotels, Dubai just started constructing a $500 million Hydropolis. This Hydropolis is the world’s first underwater hotel. “Hydropolis is not a project; it’s a passion,” said Joachim Hauser of the gigantic project to be completed in 2009.
The Hydropolis will house about 225 rooms and is said to be a good alternative to people who can’t dive or swim, or are just phobic to sea water.
This is a testament to the rapid growth of Dubai. It is no wonder that even in this economic crunch, Dubai is still alive and kicking, still serving tourists from different countries to enjoy the different man-made constructions and other offerings that only Dubai can devote with style and panache.
