People are normally easy to influence – the way they think, decide, and act. As professionals and as the workplace leaders, chefs like you are bound to inspire and motivate your colleagues and subordinates to work effectively. One good thing is that, inspiration and motivation are just free! Effort are primary the capital to achieve team goals. Leaders draw strengths from themselves and allow subordinates to draw strength to them as well.
According to some leadership and teambuilding workshops, there is no such thing as a leader in a team. Everyone decides, thinks, and works. But, a leader is mostly needed when conflicts or differences in views arise. In any matter, if you want to motivate people, inspire your colleagues to work with you, or give confidence to your subordinates, you must start reading the tips below.
- Be a leader. Talk and act like one but do not overdo it. Inspiring leaders ask for inputs, listen for feedbacks, and incorporate what they hear. Being a leader brings you a lot of opportunities to motivate them the way you want and expect them to. Your colleagues will be inspired if you take charge of a certain series or set of tasks and you do it just right. A leader must be responsible in nature. If you keep on that, they will do their best to keep with you and that makes them work really hard. The key here is you need to start, delegate tasks accordingly and see them follow.
- Be optimistic. Influence is a big deal here. If you think positive, everyone in the team will think positive too. As a result, everyone is inspired to finish the job early. You are motivating them by influencing them to have the right attitude in doing the tasks. Also, recognitions and praises encourage people so try to make them feel they are acknowledged and well credited for their efforts. It is but the simplest way of connecting to your subordinates. Influential person speaks of a better future not only to himself but to the betterment of the whole team. Speak in positive, optimistic language. Be a beacon of hope.
- Be the last person to quit. In times where everything is a mess, do not try to show that you are losing your nerves. If you want to influence them to do the tasks properly and timely, never show them you are giving up to it. As much as possible, try to think of plan B, C etc. Have a variety of options and alternatives when planning activities or tasks. Be careful of the pros and cons of the decisions to make. An inspiring leader must be the last person standing. It is said that determination is a force multiplier, meaning that it has a running effect not just to the team alone but also throughout an organization.
- Be passionate. If you are more willing than ever to motivate colleagues, you should first motivate yourself. Look for people, ideas, and information that will keep you inspired. Stories from other people are truly motivating. We learn best from facts and narratives, which connect with people on an emotional level. By then, we can develop our own inspiring stories. Tell and share more of them to your subordinates. Be someone worth emulating.
Have you ever thought of how much good results and positive outcome you have just lost because you could influence and motivate your subordinates? Are you able to inspire your colleagues to achieve your as well as their goals? Imagine being able to overcome objections before they happen, know what your prospect is thinking and feeling. Feel more confident in your ability to inspire and motivate. No leader accomplishes team objectives alone. Motivation plays an important role to make the goals and good deeds pass on continuously.
