Why Should You Not Skip Breakfast?
Do you like this post?
Many of us, especially the working ones, often skip breakfast. This habit has been found to be detrimental to our health. It has been learned that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Thus, it should always be given enough priority.
However, no matter how hard one may want to take his nutritious breakfast consistently, still he finds it really difficult to do so. There are many factors and reasons why one helplessly and unintentionally skips the first meals of his days.
Studies show that persons who eat breakfast can perform their duties well whether they are at home, at the office, at the school, on the farm or in any place. When you skipped breakfast, you may feel irritable, inefficient, weak, dizzy, and prone to accidents.
Many people, usually women, practice the habit of skipping breakfast as one of the most common strategies for losing weight. Actual studies have actually found that people who ate breakfast every day were a third less likely to be obese compared to those who skipped the meal. It has also been suggested that people who eat breakfast are less likely to be hungry during the rest of the day and are, therefore, less likely to overeat.
Aside from keeping a leaner body, this also has effects on the overall well-being of an individual. Breakfast eaters have halved their risks to have blood sugar problems, thereby decreasing the chances that they will acquire diabetes or have high cholesterol. In turn, there will be lesser risks to develop heart diseases.
Remember that eating breakfast is the best way to start off your day and the best care you can give yourself. But everything, including seemingly healthy habits, can have opposing results if not practiced correctly. We should still be cautious on the choice of food we eat at breakfast.
A truly nourishing breakfast should contain proteins and fiber. Proteins can come from low fat meats, eggs, beans or dairy. Fibers, on the other hand, can be found in whole grains, vegetables and fruits. Indeed, if you are really in a hurry, you can eat a hard-boiled egg and drink a glass of milk. That would help you get through for a reasonable period until you can have time to eat a heavier and fuller meal.
One of the best examples of a nourishing breakfast consists of hard boiled eggs, an apple and a cereal with low fat milk. Food with fiber and protein will keep you feeling full until lunch time. Avoid eating foods with syrup, pastries, sugary cereals and white bread because they are easy to digest and you might get hungry right away.
Unfortunately, there are still persons who really can not be pushed to eat breakfast. They could just have a few bites to say the least. This is just to put something in their stomach before going to work. They should just then be sure to have a break from work and have their snacks. Maybe a fruit or a bunch of healthy nuts like walnuts will do.
Eating breakfast brought into practice will bear beneficial fruits. You can perform your duties and obligations well. You have lots of energy for your every activity. You are not prone to accidents. You are much more efficient. You are alert and active. And you are happy and contented because you can do all these things.
Of course, it is still important that you have your three full meals throughout the day. Eating a hearty and healthy breakfast will just build up the momentum of a great day. A day wherein you are feeling both lively and healthy!

When you skip breakfast, you are likely to become tired when your brain and body run low on fuel. By mid-morning, you might grab a cup of coffee or wolf down a sugary candy bar to wake up again. This might work for a few minutes, but by lunch time you are hungry, crabby, and perhaps your mood might make you a little more prone to make unhealthy choices at lunch.
